what a suprise, ireland is 2nd from bottom in europes dsl leagues
    full report on http://www.ectaportal.com/regulatory/dsl_scorecard_april02.xls
    I really do give up
here's an idea us in rural areas can buy leased lines setup a not for profit organisation and sell bandwidth across wireless for local users anyone got any ideas on how this could be done ? waiting for eircon or idiots in government seems like a waste of time.
wrote to all local td's not even as reply

Jesus thats bad. We're in the same league as Greece with our big fat 0's all the way across. Representative of a school report for €ircon.0%.
I wonder how many more of these reports will be published before anything is actually done.? Or can anyone at Leinster House read or intrepret numbers.

According to latest stats, its maybe 1,100 lines in this 'e-hub', still 2nd last....LOL
Next position up is Luxembourg which have 1,988 dsl lines, MORE than ireland !!

For a finer look, we don't have 52,000 cable internet subscribers as was pointed out in an earlier thread.
NTL have 470 + other cable/wireless/satellite + the 1,100 dsl adds up to less than 1500(agree?)...which means that if Greek stats of 10,000 cable internet subscribers is correct, ireland is in fact in LAST PLACE.

    ie....for the fairytale e-minister :
ireland is not in 14th place out of 15 EU countries but 15th !!

    Love your signature, LOL.

And you're right, its pathetic really isnt it?.
Perhaps this report could be fowarded to the appropriate minister/organisation. Must send it to €ircon.
