I've asked in Technology as well, but someone here might know too...
Anyone know of a shop in Dublin (probably a camera shop of some sort) where I can get a sheet of polarizing filter? You know, the type that turns opaque when you put them perpendicular to each other.

mmm, i know you can get it, just not where. How big a sheet are you looking for?
You could maybe try the video/film equipment outlets.

I know Jessops sell it, so any camera shop in Dublin (or elsewhere around the country) that sells Jessops accessories should be able to get it for you (it is not cheap for a sheet though).
I would recommend Dublin Camera Exchange on Georges Street, ask for Billy or Padraig.

I'm looking for about an A4-size sheet or equivalent. Linear filter if possible, the price isn't all that important.

Thanks Samson, I'll check that place out.

    did you get sorted out?

    heyyyyyyyyyy :D
I tried the Dublin Camera Exchange but no joy. The only place I could find them is DML in Portobello, but I don't think we were talking about the same thing - that guy wanted to charge me €108
I've definitely found them before in some Dublin camera shop for around €10-15, now if only I could remember where.....
Nice one miggy, I'll give you a ring. It's not urgent, just want to do a few experiments

lying around in skips in trinity? would they do? they are polarizing i think  ??

hope you're gettin on well anyway dude
giz a ring sometime soon.. or keep me posted.

Right, well I finally found what I was looking for on 3dlens.com. Only $8.90 too. Just got too pist off with the camera shops not knowing what I was talking about. According to one guy (The Camera Shop on Gardiner St): [start annoyingly arrogant whine]"Sorry, I don't think those even exist"[/end annoyingly arrogant whine].

    GRRRR
