I got a laptop a few weeks ago, and i've noticed that when I put it into standby, leave it for a few mins, and press a key to get out again, it comes back on but the screen stays black.

Anyone any ideas on whats wrong? Ideas appreciated.

    Thanks.

    C.

    Go into power control panel
    turn off the hibernate.
turn off the suspend option save where lid is closed
all shutdowns should be shutdown and suspend/hibernate

    should do it for ya.

    Naw...

It definitly wasn't on hibernate... because hibernate was disabled. It was on standby and when I hit a key, i could hear the hard disk etc coming back on but the screen stayed black.

Thanks for the reply though! Any other ideas?

    C.
