    Anyone see the lead article on the front of todays Irish Independent? Basically it was talking about the cutbacks that the Gov are gonna have to make in the light of the economic downturn, etc.

    Anyway, paragraph 6 states:
    Further down the scale - and so far unannounced - is the €20m - €25m cut in each of three areas: broadband communications, public transport and the Department of the Environment

    So, don't expect broadband just yet......

    Judging by a few things that were said in the AGM, that 'broadband' money is quite possible 'wideband' money and was never intended for the likes of us. I could be completly wrong of course, but do you really care if they double up on existing dark fibre and you still pay by the minute for you calls ?:)

    Ah yes the Government "All Bran" project, not a major loss if they cull it, it might focus their little minds on the actual problem the last mile to the small businesses and consumers premises.
