Does anyone know if you can use an mp3 player for file storage. Let me explain. If I have a file called stuff.dat and I rename it to stuff.mp3 can I upload it to a player?

I'm 99% sure you will be able to, I don't think any of them check if its actually in mp3 format internally before allowing you to upload it.

This will work on most of players. The only problem with renaming is that you may have playback problems while storing files renamed to .mp3 as your player would try to play data files.

Creative jukebox works as portable hard drive without renaming any file.
