When I used to go windsurfing in Dublin Bay alongside The dun laoire pier I used to feel sick looking at the gigantic pipe pumping crap into the ocean :(

where else is it going to go though?

The thing that gets to me about it is people think the ocean cleans itself, which is a fact but I reckon we're pumping so much dirt and pollution into it more and more each year that we don't give the ocean enough time to clean itself naturally, thus given enough time I'm sure it will become so polluted that it will be unfit to swim in, nm catch our fish in.

True. Sewage treatment plants and such are a problem, and the only way to fix the problem is to either stop the dumping, or find some way to moderate what they're putting in.

The problem is finding someone who's able to enforce a quota on companies that do this. The only alternative place to put it really is in some kind of landfill, and that'll only seep down to the rivers and seas eventually anyway!

There's nothing we can really do. Just enjoy the fishing and sport while it lasts. Someone will have to think of a remedyt for this soner or later anyway!
