I'm always lookin to hear new bands and interested in anything that's original. I don't have much interest in too many nu-metal bands, some are good. Anyway I'm interested to hear about any really (bands and the best albums).

I love Tool, metallica, alice in chains, machine head and **** load of others. Especially stuff like opeth aswell. Love their music and vocals but that black metal roar isn't really for me...anyone know bands that play like that and sing like the others? That aside I'm interested in hearing about good bands regardless.

    Cheers folks.

If you like an origional band try Dream Theatre :)
If you want just outright superb guitar work, try In Flames. (pornapster will back me up on both of these :))

Well, seeing as Industrial and Metal are quite different, I'll throw you some reconmendations from both sides.

    Industrial:
(If you think that Rammstein = Industrial, then you probably won't like this. And if you think Fear Factory = Industrial, then you're beyond all hope. :p) (Some goth here also)

    Ministry
    Skinny Puppy
    KMFDM
    Die Krupps
    Apoptygma Berserk
    VNV Nation
    Pop Will Eat Itself
    Sulpher
    Tweaker
    Mesh
    Razed In Black
    London After Midnight
    Switchblade Symphony

And now for some good Rock and Metal:
Although, Mikael Akerfeldt's distorted vocals are more towards death metal than black metal, I'll take it that you just don't like distorted vocals.

Anathema (Older stuff is far heavier)
    Nightwish
    Iced Earth
    Blind Guardian
    Misery Loves Co.
    In Flames
Dark Tranquility (If you like In Flames...)
    Fields Of The Nephilim

    Hope that is Satisfactory.

Fear Factory definately... and if your gonna get one of their albums I recommend "Demanufacture". It is IMO one of the best albums ever in metal. Not just in Industrial Metal.

    And what Pugsley said. :D

I also agree with alot of the bands AngelWhore put up there.

    Obituary
    Anthrax
    Pantera
    Faith No More
    Anathema

    Pitchshifter (nice choice Deco)

Since you say you like Alice In Chains then You have to check out Jerry Cantrells solo album Degradation Trip.

36 Crazyfists play real heavy and vocally they mix the singing and screaming. They only have one album called Bitterness The Star.

Sinch sound really like Tool and are definitely worth a listen too. Only one album available over here and its self-titled.

A Japanese mate of mine recommended Mad Capsule Markets, they'd be kinda in line with what you're looking for (I think).

The cd's called 'Osc-Dis', I have no idea what the songs are, my copy is all in Japanese, a language I'm not too fluent in.

They're kind of industrially metally thing.
(Angelwhore is gonna rip my head off. I can feel it.)

Aw go on, I can see the headlines.....

ANGELWHORE BITES HEAD OFF LIVE SILVERFISH

    ;)

If you're looking to hear rock /metal without paying many europes , can I recommend:

Ray McGowan (all kneel / rock handsignals) on Phantom Fm, 88.1 and 91.6, on Thursday nights?

Not only does he play good stuff, but if you're a girlie, he has one of those voices......you know the ones I'm talking about.......
