Oz is a brilliant series and its shameful that Channel 4 put it on at 11:40 of all times.Ive onbly started watching in the last few months since TG4 started showing it about 4 months ago.Last nights episode was one of the best yet.As Winters says it also tells you alot in the narration about how the prison system is run and used for political gain.It may be a little unrealistic(for example your chances of leaving Oz without your mode of transport being a coffin are very slim with at least one murder in nearly every episode)but it is brilliant stuff.

Best show on TV at the moment. As The Gopher said, it a tad unrealistic (understatement), but its compulsive addictive viewing, as in you never know who's going to get shivved next, or what plot twist will rear its always ugly head. The characters are nearly all bad to the bone, yet they somehow remain compelling. Great, great show..

Used to watch it all the time but I've missed quite a lot of episodes recently.
I wish they would release more of it on DVD so far it's only series 1 and AFAIK it's Region 1 only.

Looking at the bios on www.imdb.com i noticed something very amusing-the guy who plays vicious racist rapist and thug Vern Schillinger is the voice of no other than.......................the jolly dim witted but friendly Yellow M&M!  What a role change!

He's also the editor of the newspaper in Spider-Man.
Whatever his name is, at the moment I cant remember.

    [edit]Jameson is it?[/edit]
