while im on my qouting lark there is an unwritten rule amongst music folk that best of's , greatist hits, story so far, etc can not be included in in all time classic albums coz it a hybrid of albums or singles
oh and who are the samshing pumpkins
    a chinesse tribute:D

neil young and nirvana had their mtv unplugged released
    and they still sell big.
i don't think that's the case with any of the artists i can recall
    on this new album(live,cranberries....),

the explanation might be in there
but i can't explain the pearl jam ommision

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 331 ✭✭metalish

Does anyone think that pearl jam did put out an mtv unplugged album? nirvana 'unplugged' still sells by the bucket loads and I will admit the Alice In Chains 'unplugged' is the very best of alice in chains if you never heard them singing live you should by it, even if you never heard of them before. I recommened you listen to 'Nutshell' great song. Class:D

I've been listening to alot of my old pixies cd's lately ...when I say lately I mean the last year and a half or so........and it must be the old showing your age thing again....but I really don't think there's any rock band that's come out in the ten years since they've split that can touch them.....most bands use anger in such an obvious way but not the pixies.....what he's saying and how he sings it , its not done in the typical way...... the perfect mix of noise and melody .........amazing band

Aaaaaggh I hate this things, because I'm the type of person who always has to get their tuppence worth in. Of course, in my day, you could buy a record for tuppwnce, and still have change left over to get the 11A back to Ranelagh......

My top ten changes weekly, if not daily, but this week I have nostly been listening to:

    THE SMITHS: Meat is Murder
    UNKLE: Psycience Fiction
    THE SMITHS: Louder then Bombs
    DJ SHADOW: Pre-emptive Strike
    TURN: Antisocial
    TOOL: AEnima
    MY BLOODY VALENTINE: Isn't Anything
    PIXIES: Doolittle

And of course whatever tape is stuck in my car stereo before I get the tweezers and a screwdriver to it. If anyone ver steals my car stero, they will be the one saying ' Awwwriigh bud, d'wanna buy dis stereeeeo dat plays de best of Haircuh 100 all de bleedin' toime....'

    Its a long story.
