I think NZ also. Its the entire Canterbury pack that won the Super 12. Also if a side can drop Lomu and Umaga they must be pretty good.

I don't think NZ have what it takes to beat Aus.

The preparation alone for Aus playing the French was far superior then the NZ preparation playing mickey mouse teams and Ireland as a confidence builder ...

But then again the "niggle" between to two over the world cup fiasco should add to the matches.

Aus to win it, then NZ followed by poor SA

I think New Zeland to win fairly comfortable.

Also i dont think south Africa should be allowed in anymore, they are just not good enough,in my opininon they should make the tri-nations between the top three ranked teams in the world whoever that may be at the time, with the winner of that tournament securing the no 1 spot.

    Hmmmm.

sposs. do you not think that would take away from the world cup?
i don't think SA should be kicked out either, i believe argentina should be brought into the tri nations!!
    but thats just my opinion.

Don't know about Umaka but Lomu is a lazy player, if you ever get to see him, he stands around waiting for the ball o be delivered to him - then gets going, rather than getting the ball for himself. You'll only notice this if you see him play, as the telly folllows the action. As such he has had problems with team mates in the past and is unpopular with some fans. He is brilliant when he's moving though:)

For tri nations, you'd really have to go with the All Blacks (but then again you'd rarely be wrong if ya did!) To say that SA is not up to that standard is ludicrous, and god knows I'd like to see the Argies get better, but I wouldn't see the point of introducing tham as some sort of whipping boys. I don't thing that would be good for anyone.

Well, all those NZ fans were right, not much effort expended in that competition.

The match on Saturday was thoroughly enjoyable - very exciting from a neutrals POV.

That fat bastid should be rucked over by both teams for attacking the ref like that, and the SA stadium security left a lot to be desired - there's been major questions asked there too.

I have to say, despite their showing in this compo, I believe that the saffers are an up and coming team. They've a lot of strength in depth, and may surprise a lot of people next year at the World Cup.

Finally - thanks to all the mad aussies and kiwis I met in Sinnotts & Down-Under on Saturday - you're all crazy! :)

    later,
    Al.

South Africa were still in with a chance of winning the tournament before last Saturdays game if they won both games and got two bonus points. To kick them out of the Tri-Nations would be mad as they are a good side just rebuilding for the future.

They ran NZ close at the weekend and almost produced an excellent comeback against the aussies two weeks ago.

I think the south africa who tackled the ref should have been in the team,it was the best tackle by a south african in the competition(sp?) :D

No way should South Africa be kicked out! What should happen is that the other Pasific teams should be introuduced.

True thay would be wipping boys for a couple of years but it would build up there teams to competitive levels.

Plus how many NZ players come from those islands anyway? If thay had teams that took part in that level of compatision thay might stay.
