I am thinking about getting a T68i and want to know where the best deal is.
In o2 shop they said it would be around €500, Cellular World said it was €399 for 12month and €349 for 24months, and yesterday i seen it for €299 in carphone warehouse(although it did say FROM ).

    Has anybody got one yet?

€400 on a 12 month contract sounds about right. This price wouldn't include any of the add-on's though: mp3 player/radio/camera. It's a lovely phone and is quite compact. I don't see it being available for a few weeks though.

Last news from Vodafone was they hoped to have it launched in August, but nothing definate as it's still "in testing". That Carphone warehouse poster caught my eye last week, it's the first time I saw it publicised here.

From O2 their press release on launching MMS by the Autumn listed the T68i as one of the phones on offer.

No definiate pricing yet from either but SIM Free you can pick one up new for about EUR 560 (ref Expansys excl. shipping)

Depending what operator you are with and if you qualify for an upgrade / migration or want to switch, will determine the best value, but it's going to be another "while"....

    Brian.

popped into Carphone Warehouse today to ask if there was any news on the T68i. they took a SonyEricsson box from under the desk and handed me a T68i to take a look at

they had some in stock for first time connections, but as i was looking for an upgrade they said i'd have to come back on Saturday, when they hoped to have upgrade models in stock

i was only inquiring about vodafone connection, they had a few of different prices depending if it was first time connection, if it was an upgrade and what monthly price plan was being connected to.

the from EUR 299 price was for a first time connection to Vodafone Performer when also trading in a phone

i suppose i'll be getting up early on saturday:)

we got a couple of them here in work for testing. bit too far down the pecking order to get to hold on to it full time though, can only get it during work hours if i actually need to use it for tests.

if ye go here you can get the Sony Erricson MMS composer tool kit where you can create your own MMS messages with pictures and sound and then export them to your phone.

Does the 68i have polyphonic ringtones?

Scruff, do you work for a mobile operator?

I've been doing tests with it also. I must say though, that for the asking price, the keys feel extremely cheap and the 4-way hat button doesn't seem very robust at all.

Another gripe is the screen, it's nice and colourful (256 colours) but the menu system feels somewhat cluttered by way of large icon's + fonts.

The T-68i does not have polyphonic ringtones.
