El Tel will collect his pay cheque for about six months and then move on to the next club.

Will someone explain why people think he's a good manager?

He won a european trophy with Barcalona. that's about it.

As a leeds fan all i have to say is.....

    OMFG

For a club in financial difficulty it's a crazy selection, just ask Portsmouth and Crystal Palace. I can only imagine he was chosen because Hiddink, O'Neill, McCarthy and McClaren all turned down the job. El Tel must be laughing his tanned head off.

hahahah this is great. How unsuited to Leeds is he, he'll have to completely change the team or he'll do even worse than O'Leary did

Whats the bets that he signs at least one of the following players.

    Gazza
    Darren Anderton
    Teddy Shez

El Tel knows his onions whether he knows Leeds is another matter, the place is full of professional bad boys/holigans
and none of Venables previous sides have been dirty, so maybe
he'll be a reforming character, before you know it they'll be picking
up plaudits for fair play and decency. Tactically they'll proberly become more savvy, less rushing around at ninty and more
thought about playing the ball (not the man!) into dangerous,
attacking areas. Would he play Viduka rather than Keane? hmmm...I'd guess he'd prefere Robbie K meself.

Hmm, I dont know why yee are that upset, fact is that martin O'Neill wouldnt have left Celtic for a club thats in financial difficulty, McCarthy has it sweet and the rest...well...I dunno.

TV isnt that bad, atleast the club (or I mean shouldnt hehe :D ) get relegated next season, and well, if he does end up making the club top the table next season every1 will say what a tactical signing as manager he was...

To be quite Honest I'd prefer TV managing villa than Graham Taylor .... atleast he isnt the chairmans Puppet :D

David O'Leary was never any good, he was..well... a fluke if u ask me, he took over from George Graham and hit a winning streak, and with good youth facilities at the club he was able to produce good talent for the first few years, notice that once he had to take the bull by the horns and start actually Buying players (Expensive ones) that the club began to plummit, now look at their situation, Financial difficulty, no champions league spot and rumours that Man u are after Rio Ferdinand, easily their best player and will be for years to come....

Maybe TV will sort the club out but from what I can gather it was more of "Get us out of bother" signing than a "Help us win the league" signing, Peter risdale will be more concerned about the possible money he could loos if the club cannot sell players....

TV didnt buy too many at boro last season did he?

    bleh...thats my two cents anyways

Its only a two year deal which says it all, TV does'nt want to be
starting a whole new managerial carreer at 59 and has plenty of other irons in the fire, while Leeds are biding thier time, of course
excatly who they're waiting for is another matter with O'Neill
almost certainly looking to follow Fergie at Man Utd.

    Mike.

Seems to me that Terry's only been interested in big fat paychecks since he left the England job. He was a good manager though, back in the day..

his record is better than our own Millwall managing McCarthy. I say they'll finish fourth or fifth. david O Leary wasn't that bad, he actually did pretty well at Leeds. his signing of Rio Ferdinand proved a good buy.
