Ctrl-Alt-Del ----> Task List. Try find it there.

Windows Explorer --> find said directory, hit delete, reboot.

If that doesn't work, search for Webmarshall.ini, or something similar, edit it into a blank file, and reboot. If all else fails, create a text file called WebMarshall.exe, and copy it into the directory then reboot. :)

I think WebScanX is a component of McAfee virus scan.

If you can see the on/off button turn it on and off rapidly about 20 times then leave.
If you cant see it then go to the plugswitch and flick it on and off.

I cannot be held responable if you acctually do this^.
    :)

If you want to chat on irc, go to www.mouselike.org. You don't have to download anything. It's all through html or something like that afaik.

Ah well if you have MS word available, you're sorted. Word 97 and after have comprehensive search yokies in the Open dialog. You can search any directories, for any file extensions/file names. Best to look for is a shortcut to cmd (there's one called 'default_' in the c:\winnt directory). Select it, hit Ctrl-C. Go to the desktop, hit Ctrl-V. If that doesn't work, view the window in a half desktop size, and drag the icon from the open dialog straight onto the desktop, and Voila! shortcut. If all else fails, you can delete it, and files can be undeleted from the recycle bin, by dragging them onto the desktop................

    :)

Try getting Httport 3 on google, that will bypass most proxies and other stuff. you will have to be able to use a a writeable drive, if c:\ is blocked, is there a usable d:\ drive or something

    ok copied and pasted "_default"

when i ran it, it says this....

    C:\DOCUME~1\ARDKEE~1\Desktop\_DEFAULT.PIF
Invalid program file name, please check your pif file. choose "close" to terminate the app.
    ______
    |Close|
    """"""""

    any other sugestions seamus ?

    thanks.
    Kas.

Well, if you managed to copy-paste that one, then you should be able to copy-paste cmd.exe or command.exe in c:\winnt\system32 directory...........

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 822 ✭✭✭Kastro

    yea got that workin....

    just 1 question...
    now what?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

Ummm.....I've kinda lose track of what I was doing.......:D. (seamus is not well today - going home soon :()

Oh yeah, in command.exe type 'winfile' and you'll get an old Win3.1 style file manager which should let you alter the contents of the c:. The rest, I leave up to you. :)
