Need something to do

Right, boredom in my village is really starting to get ridiculous. We need some ideas of what to do outdoors during the day.

I mean today it boiled down to thinking about getting loads of cardboard boxes, stacking them up and jumping onto them from the roof of a house.

anyone got any ideas of things we could do. They have to be constructive, And something that isn't going to catch the attention of the police, doesn't annoy the public, and most of all, it must be fun. Don't say football or some crap like that. We need something new.

Here's a list of some stupid things we've already done.

    1) Carved about twenty pumpkins in the middle of May and put them around the village. It was amusing for a while looking at people's faces as they walked passed but it got tedious.

    2) Built a bridge over a river out of sticks and jumped on it until it fell.

Our boredom here is just getting ridiculous. Any ideas?

Why don't you get a job? Working will keep you busy and then you'll have some cash to get away from home for weekends/days off or whatever. Have you got a PlayStation 2? If you don't try to get your hands on one buy Max Payne, Medal of Honor Frontline, Devil May Cry or GTA3 or some other time consuming excellent game. Try something new like a new sport.. swimming or horse-riding- something that you mightn't do so often. Go to the gym and work out. Have you got friends or relations living away from your village.. go stay with them if you can. Do you live near to a decent sized town or a city?? If you do, maybe there's a bowling alley, gym, swimmimg pool or skateboard park that you could go to.
You've probably tried everything that I've said here and you're still bored but it's better than being in school isn't it.

Go swimming isn't a bad idea, if you're near a decent pool (I am :) ). It's great exercise, can be very relaxing. Other things I would do to eliminate boredom, is go shopping for some books. First I would read reviews online. Failing that I would force myself to learn something new. But I have to find an interesting project first, otherwise the motivation to actually do it, depletes in under an hour.. Also if you don't have a web site, now is a good time to create one, even if it's a "This is a photo of my cat, Moggie" type website. :)

    Bored in a country village?

    Cowtipping - can't be bate

Or just scare farm animals. Hide behind a wall and then jump up and scream "boo" (actually, as a youngster, I used to quite enjoy this)

have yer own soap box derby... irish style.. using shopping trolleys and go down a steep hill at great speed with no control and no brakes...

thats about as much fun as you'll have until you try to stop... fall out of the trolley at high speed or slam into something rather large, like a tree, stone wall or on coming truck... :D

Cabbage kicking is always a worthy pastime.

One of the guys is just back from Thailand where him and a few of his mates paid €150 to go into a remote area and blow up cows with a bazooka, any spare cows near you ?

Yeah WTF is that about?

Personally I think that terminating cows with a bazooka is a load of crap. I don't think any demented country would hand just anybody a weapon capable of mass destruction, and let them destroy livestock that is of valuable to them. I don't live on a farm, or in a rural area for that matter, but I'm pretty sure cows are more epensive than €150.

Anyway T4TF that is bloody (no pun intended) sick, if you ask me. Surely when people are bored there is no need to suggest things that only seem to be entertained in the mind of a psychopath.

Keep it clean, and leave the animals alone OK. I have a cousin working for the ISPCA, and I think they have it hard enough as it is.

    it does happen.
a friend of mine was in tailand last summer, according to him you can go and blow up a cow. or if ya dont want to then there is an option to shoot targets with machine guns/hand guns etc for about 50c or $1 per bullet. the locals dont really care hold old you are or if you have ever held a gun before. to them its just money.

Whether you think it is crap or not it happens m8. It would seem that the livestock is not as important you are making out. They do alot worse out there but I'd hate to offend your sensibilities Phob.

And while I agree with you that the ISPCA have a tough job as it is, I would be fairly sure they will never get a call from anybody reporting a cow having been blown up with a bazooka in a field in Connemara.

So, where can I buy a bazooka then , dont think the local gun shop stocks them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,389 ✭✭✭✭Saruman

Reading that I can only giggle, because I know us Irish are harmless folk (well the best part of us anyway), and nothing like that would happen over here. But I have to admit I'm little shocked, at the way forreign nations reduce themselves to make a few quid. Anyway excuse my interruption to this thread, with my off topic rant, that I just had it introduce.

    Please continue...:)

Well that's the thing. All we ever do is drink. And I think the drinking is starting to go a little over the top. If we drink anymore we're all going to end up like Mordeth.

Is that your hair or a hoody? Either way it is quite scary

As for the prediciment mentioned in this thread, I would suggest getting naked , smearing yourself in butter and then doing the '6am round the block run'. It's quite fun to see if you can make it all the way round without anyone spotting you

if the village is big enough, or if there is a town nearby, get a mini rugger ball, or a fullsize one, and play rugby from one end of town/village to another! just please....

    1) dont get knowcked down

    2) dont hurt/annoy others

    have fun!!!!!
