Architecture of Croke Park

Even though Croke Park is looking magnificent now that it is nearing completion does any else find it a pity that the Nally Stand and Hill 16 are still in place in the same shape as they have been since the 1980s? Croker is one of the most up to date stadia in Europe now but (to me) the presence of Nally and the Hill as they are make it look like a rebuilding project that ran out of money 3/4's of the way through (yes I know this isn't the case).

So what do you all think?

What should be done with the Nally Stand and Hill 16? 15 votes

Keep Nally and the Hill exactly as they are.

Knock them down and build new modern terraces.

Grow an embankment of tall trees around the back to make the stadium look more enclosed (as was done in Lisbon's Estadio Nacional)

Rebuild a single teir of seating to connect the Hogan and Cusack stand seamlessly.

Copy the Canal design end and build over the railway to completly enclose Croker and bring the capasity past 90,000.

On Sunday the nally, standing there small beside the hogan, looked ridiculous.

knocking it down and also the hill, creating one big terrace, would be great for the dubs but awful for anybody playing against them.

the abuse from the hill towards giles and murphy on sunday was something that i wouldn't expect from an irish crowd.

so maybe the right thing would be to build up the nally and hill like the railway end.

unfortunately, though, there is very little room there for expansion, so it'll probably be left as it is

they should just join the hogan and nally with a single tier stand,
as there is not much room there to complete the circle,
and it will keep the uniques of the hill aswell.as looking like the world class stadium that it is.

    ps.Up the lillies!!!!!!
