I think we should also go easy on the players that missed peno's. The one thing I hated about the English media was the way they keep ENDLESSLY showing the misses by Pearce, Waddle, Ince, Southgate and Batty and almost to a man each's career went down the pan after their miss. We don't need any of our individual players getting singled out in a similar way because they are all heroes.

I was so so so so disappointed like everyone else, but then i just thought of how bloody well we played, not only amazing commitment, effort, workrate and passion but also skill. I never thought i'd see an irish team play like that and i'm so proud of them. Even if it wasn't our day today and it should have been, at least we can go out of the world cup knowing we have played better than a host of other teams that have gotten through by playing half-hearted football.

C'mon yeeeeeew boys in green!!! :)

Duff looked more like a continental player who's on 60k a week then a man in an irish jersey. He was a pleasure to watch and left the spanish defence for dead most of the time even in 2-3 on one situations.

The ball seemed stuck to his foot at times.

The World Cup will be a lesser tournament without Duff. He is a god.

First of all well said Pigman. Well the english fans r very fickle anyway, last world cup beckham was a the villian and everybody hated him and now they all love him.
Anyway I thought Ireland played brilliant. Probably the best i've seen them play ever. And they really deserved a winner! Ahwell, i guess all u can say is hope they get on better the next time.
