Well, I for one really enjoyed that round. Doing well and not fecking up (until right at the end when I totally fecked up in major styleeeee) probably helped!

I think we need to make some changes to the game (sub orbital attacks are needed if we arent to come to a total standstill imho and all turn into farmers....). We need to check those costs, but currently farmers are by far too efficent as a playing style.

I need to get my head around the combat system which is far more complex then I had thought before.

I think maybe trying the two big alliance approaches might work if we also created two boards for them too...

The G-Police didnt really work, I dunno whether I'll scrap them or redesign their role.

Getting 10+ planets and tending to them kinda ruled :)

We might invoke a rule that says anyone with a negative score of -N is killed outright *evil grin* or can be reported to GOD and a bounty claimed on them... dunno have to think that one through. That will keep people from being very evil over a long period of time....

But in general I had a good laugh playing this round and even dying didnt piss me off as much as I thought it would!

    DeV.

hey come on now(-52 and proud ;)) that's just prejudice that is :p

As far as i'm concerned i did not know of the g-police until yesterday. but i think the admins are trying to soften the blow on the newbies(methinks that throwing them in at the deep end is the best way for them to learn)

Possibly a smaller universe next time? and lock alliances?

I've farmed and farmed its so boring now, no one will attack me no will do anything to me :( its so unfair.

843, cash prize of 50 billion if anyone is brave enough. :)

i really want to see sub-orbital introduced, it makes attacking planets way less suicidal.

as for a smaller galaxy? 2000 sectors isnt even enough
i had 25 different trade routes, i could only use them once or twice a day cos of other players lowering the prices :/

G-police is a good idea in a way, but they need more power, lets say all the admins that play join g-police and can grow to whatever size but they cant initiate first strikes.....

i like the 2 alliance thing, is it possible to force players randomly to a side?

how a bout a dual system?

join one of the 2 big alliances, go alone in a solo effort,

anyone can attack anybodies ship or planet, but only solo players sectors can be attacked by solo players, and alliance sectors, can only be attatcked by enemy alliance members,

it gives some refereeing to be done ,the g-police some get more work to do, but there has has to be a good sign up system and comitment to be brought up if joining a large alliance.....

and your good evil score determines the services you get from the g police,

but the g police should remain a small few with set sectors

well instead of having 2 main alliences you could limit the number of people in them?

i also think that there should be a limit on alliance members we call it average bacis if there are like 30 peeps playing max alliance members shouls be like 6 any more and it just gets to big and complicated.

As for bounty on -n players i dont think thats such a hot idea. cause a lot of people have yet to find wasy to bring there rating back to good when they go really evil.

i also thing we should have like insted of evil/good something else that suits us a little better. like i dunno something.

people must rembember that it will not be very easy change most of the code for the game since its called up in a few places. and a lot of it is very complicated like the battle system and few other places that i just couldnt keep track of it.

We could set the good/evil rating to other stats such as
    • Number of planets conquered/destroyed
    • Number of ships engaged in battle (where you are the aggressor)

Alternitavely, someone may be given a good G-Police rating by the following factors
    • Number of colonists
    • Planets in ownership that have not been conquered
    • Number of Trade routes plied

I'm not sure what the effects of such good/evil ratings should be in regards to G-Police actions. I don't think a bounty system would be effective, given the potential for abuse that it creates. A more effective detterent may be a block on the use of special ports unless a person makes some kind of amends (through improving the second list of stats above).

i dont think it should matter how evil you are at all...as in most games u try to get bigger...u can do that by either building or conqouring other ppls planets....both are perfectly acceptable routes to take and i dont see why u should be forced to be a builder and making the game all boring for the whole rnd
