Tyson looked out of ideas by the end of round 1. They both looked old and slow to be honest. Lewis controlled it from the start, holding and jabbing. Tyson looked finished by the end of the 4th.

    bah they both suck

watched it through beer tinted spectacles...so...
Lewis was totally on top from the first round.

Tyson started much more cautiously than most expected,by the end of the second it was clear lewis had the marking of tyson, tyson seemed to concentrate on closing as fast as possible and trying to tie up lewis at close quaters.
Lewis was able to deal with this plan by offloading a series of upercuts as tyson closed in then using his hieght advantage to lean his wieght onto tyson, or push him away.
Lewis was unfairly deducted a point for leaning in on tyson as tyson swayed from a punch, tyson stumbled under the wieght, but recieved a standing count.
The point deduction seemed to galvanise lewis, and if anything made him determined not to allow the fight to go to a decision.
He began to take control rocking tysons head with a series of short jabs.Tyson rallied for a short while and made effective use of shots to the body, causing lewis to drop his guard to protect his body, tyson was unable to capitalise on this as his shots to the head were easily avoided by lewis.
Occasionally Tyson would throw a punch of extreme almost blinding speed and strength a reminder of his once awesome capabilities. but they were for the most part wildly innacurate, harmlessly sailing through the air.
Finally lewis unleased a savage short jab knocking tysons head back and sideways and tyson never looked like he would beat the count.

Tyson immeadiadtly asked for a rematch but on this showing it would be a no contest.Tyson should retire. As for lewis it is hard to see where he can go from here,

to be fair OJ at that point tyson was bleeding from both nostrils, and had cuts to both eyes,if anything the referee should have moved in and stopped it before the knock down. I lost a lot of respect for tyson over the ear bitting and attempted arm breaking incidents. But even he deserves to leave the ring with some dignity, not a battered and bloody pulp as would have happened if the fight was allowed to continue.

I can understand why your agrieved having paid good money to see the fight, but the problems lay in the tyson camps decision not to risk their investment unless there was a big payday to be made(against both Holyfield and Lewis). In both instances tysons limitations were clearly indicated.Tysons lack of experienced or skilled opponents over the past couple of years definatly dulled his fighting skills,at times tyson looked like a one fight rookie lacking even rudimentary ringcraft such as holding on and covering up in a clinch, for much of the fight tyson was relying far to heavily on conjuring up a single "killer punch" out of thin air rather than working an opening or stringing together a series of punches

tyson is incapable of any better and has been for 10 years. I dont understand why anyone thought (before last nights performance) he still belongs in a ring.

yeah im convinced it was a push as well he kind of rolled him so he would fall.
and what was the deal with the ref he gave tyson a standing 8 count even though it wasnt in the rules

ah just let it go about the pushing for the knock down, tyson got battered about and all the bull**** he was spouting before the fight was proven wrong

hopefully now he will retire from boxing and take up a comical wrestling career :)

it was almost sad to see Tyson soooo crap...

In the corner before that last round telling them he could not do anything else..

From what i heard Tyson seems to be fighting just for the money at this stage.

I heard on sky news that he may not see any of the 12 million that he is reported to have earned from the fight, due to his debts.

it was a poor main event alright but some of the fights before hand made up for it

Lewis may aswell retire now. What's he got left to do?
There is no real competition for him to compete against. He is the world champion, he is getting old and he has proved that he is better than Tyson, who is(was) considered his greatest rival and biggest threat.

I've done a few contact sports Wado Ryu, Muay Thai, Ju-Jitsu and learned self-defence from a K1 competidor.

Tyson wouldn't have lasted against a granny with a handbag.

Lewis had trouble trying to knock Evader Holyfield.

    Just before this

Evader punched the hell out of Tyson, but Tyson bit Evanders ear.

Aincent legend and over weight George Foreman boxed Evander Holyfield to a stand off, and later gained the World heavy weight title.

They sure don't make em like they used to or is boxing just as real as wrestling?

Tyson go back to the WWF your act was better.

What are the odds on Ali beating Tyson?

    Tyson was sh*t.

All the best boxers are from either Russia Mexico or Cuba and most are forbidden to compete for the IBF and WBC boxing championships

Sky, when there are weeknight repeats of a PPV boxing event, seem to forget that, in the same way there are "England fans" or "Ireland fans" who only watch the World Cup when these teams are playing, there are "big fight fans" who only watch for fights like Lewis-Tyson, which is OK if they're paying £15, or the equivalent in euros (haven't quite worked that out!) and then there are "boxing fans" who can't watch/don't want to pay, and have to wait. So yes, we saw the Lewis-Tyson fight, but we also got interviews with Lewis, Tyson, Uncle Tom Cobley and all, and VERY little (if any- I gave up waiting!) coverage of anything else!

Castaway, lewis pushed Tyson to the floor???

Where you watching the same fight as everyone else?

That must have been some push after all it left Tyson in a pool of blood, unable to get to his feet.

Tyson was a **** fighter, he had no style unlike the great boxers of the past Joe Frazier, Ali, Lyston....

    Tyson had one skill.

Get in close to his man and brawl.

he had no defensive, no footwork, no jab, no counter attack.
    he was just a brawler.

I remember watching Tyson fight Buster Douglas in Japan, Buster had only one punch.

Wait for the fighter to attack and defend by uppercutting him on the chin.

    An uppercut, simple

But when used against a dumb brawler like Tyson, very very effective.

Douglas won the fight by knockout
