op-flash resistance add on

    as most people probably already know the new add-on for op-flash is nearly done and is gonna hit the shelves fairly soon.

    i ws looking at pc zone the other day and i was looking at some of the new features, here they be for anyone who dont already know

    -new graphical update, totally updated terrain, trees, building (new buildings too) and more detailed player models (infantry and vehicles)

    -a whole new island and campaign, *story* your an ex spez-natz officer looking for a peacefull retirement on a lovely island when the russians invade and you have to kick some vodka-drinking-bear-hugging-hamer and scyth-using...etc etc... ass!

    -new rpg elements are being brought into the game, ie: you have the same men on your team throughout the entire campaign, if one dies, hes gone for good, the same rules applies to weapons and ammo, although im sure you'll be able to collect more of both men and equipment in the course of the game.

    -new multiplaye code, apparantly they've cleaned up the internet multiplayer system so as it'll work better online, they've also added new multiplayer missions (dont ask me what theve done maybe SyxPac could asnwer this for us):confused:

    -new mission editor, not sure if its actually an entire new editor or an upgrade, (the latter seem to make more sense as i write this though) include an auto trigger writer(it writes the hard "if" or "and" thingies i hate them:D) and a program where you just write the missoin briefings and it automatically does the rest ie: turns them into HTML. there's a few more things for the veteran map designers too but the werent mentioned. good thing too cuz it would take me another year to figure the things out anyway!!

    -new infantry weps. (apparantly nothing special, probably some civilian arms!)

    -no new vehicles as yet, but then again all you'll need you find at the op-flash website http://www.operationflashpoint.cz

    Its gonna be class i cant wait till i get me exams over a done wiht till i get it.... i read somewhere that to get new troops.... say if your conducting a mission and you save some civilians or you help them out... a new command can be issued to ask them to join.. dunno if its true though think it was Opflash.org
    oh and the arms thing... when u go on missions a supply truck stays behind you so if you kill any russian infantry, you order one of your men to take the weapons and load em onto the truck... same with tanks. If you manage to assault a base taking out infantry and tank crew before they get to their tanks.. u get to keep em :D

    The textures are going to be doubled in size.
    Minimum System requirements are upped to about P3 800Mhz or there about, though depends on your system and ram etc.

    I think the offical release date is 28th June, though I'm not sure about that.

    i hope they just upgrade the editor as im getting quite adept with the current one and having to learn a whole new editor will just kill it for me tbh...

    getting it tomorrow, a week late, though the crew in Smyth's rang me when it arrived on Sunday, pity I was busy all week.

    Looking forward to it, though it'll probably mean a new PC to play it properly.
    Thing really is a resource hog :)

    From first lok (without starting campaign) it uns fine.
    it now supports up t 2 gis of ram, 2048x2048 teture sizes and has totally redone multiplayer netcode.
    We were using 1.46 at GL3

    Might give 1.75 a goe in August.

    So far looks sweet.

    Got it myself and I must say i think its brilliant. The new island actually feels like people live on it and the towns are more realistic too. The main thing I love is the campaign (the atmosphere is amazing) although I'm only on the first main mission where you intercept a convoy of arms. The new sound effects for the m16 sound more realistic too and the burst fire is more accurate.

    So op flash resistance gets my thumbs up and a hearty VIVA LA REVALUTION!

    I just finished the convoy mission tonight, onto the tank one now.
    Can't figure out how to steal them yet.
    Can't split the squad to get em into enough vehicles while I rob the BMP.

    just press the F keys and tell them what vehicles to get into indevidualy? Thats what I do, but I hate being in control of large groups (too messy)

    Was this in the manual/quickstart guide?
    I've been using the BackSpace menu thing for the last while.....

    The console Key (`) to the left of "1" brings up your squadies on the screen with a green circle round each one.
    You can then group select them and assign them into different teams.
    Is there a way to directly use the bar down the bottom?
