I cant believe everyone is so chuffed about a draw with Cameroon. Maybe its just me and I dont doubt that it's kept us in the running etc but I feel only middling about a draw. I mean, I'm not unhappy, but I'm not cheering it either.
I cant understand the "whoo hooo we drew!" mentality.
Go out to win or get off the pitch.

It's to be expected - Cameroon were hyped up to the last before the match, and obviously everyone feared the worst after the whole Roy Keane thing. It actually is a good result against a side that on a better day might have beaten us well, and in a four-team group it's as much about depriving other teams of points as it is scoring them yourselves - not forgetting that Cameroon were the favourites to win this group in a lot of people's minds.

Its that kind of mentality that ha Roy sitting at home, rather than being in Japan. Remeber the first dutch game. Everyone was delighted the draw, except keano who was furious that they lost a two goal lead.

Sure we COULD have won the match and we should be dissapointed for not winning it but on the balance of play over the ninety minutes we only deserved a draw at most and should be content with it.

Saturday wasn't like (for example) the 2-2 with Holland where we clearly derserved to win the match and only ran out of steam in the fifteen minutes. Everyone seems to have already forgotten that for the first 50 minutes Cameroon were giving us the run around.

i think everyone is cheering the draw because we were all over the place in the first half and at half-time I have to admit I was starting to fear us loosing by two or three goals.

then in the 2nd half the entire team played brilliant, brought us level and were very unlucky not to win the match

they all deserved to be cheered on for such a terrific performance and it is a performance like that which will do wonders for the moral of the team going into the Germany match

also anyone still sticking with this pathetic protest / attitude about Keane not being there is either

    1) a complete and utter sadcase

    2) a Man Utd. fan who knows zero about football

We could have won the game, but then again, they had enough chances (mostly because of us, take a bow Hartey) to score 3 before Holland equalised. We played well, we proved we can go on without Keane and not embarrass ourselves, and we are still in with a shout. I'd like to have seen us win, but that does not mean we shouldnt be happy with a point.

Another thing that annoys me is that people are behaving as if the Cameroon game was the toughest and its out of the way now. I think the Germany game will be tougher, and anyone who thinks Germany will not be as difficult as Cameroon should think again.
