Been having this arguement for the past few weeks now and was just wondering
Do Jedi's have to remain Celebate?
I remember reading in one of the novels about where two Jedi's had gotten it on and the person telling the story was their son...
and If I remember correctly there was some book where Luke went chasing some Female Jedi cause he was in Love...
and also...Doesnt LEia get it on wiv Han and have 3 kids...

Yeah I thought that myself too!

I found it a little weird that "Anny" couldn't get on with Padme because of his commitments to his training but then he went and married her anyway and by the end of the movie nobody onscreen had made any comment about the situation! Does mean that it's ok or simply that nobody on the Jedi council know that he's tied the knot?

Suppose it's a bit like the catholic priests thing!

I thought it had more to do with Annikin still being an apprentice?
From what I've read in the Expanded universe (admittedly not them all or anywhere close) there doesn't seem to be anything which forbids marriage between Jedi.

I'm no expert on the expanded universe stuff, but Luke didn't go through the same formal training as the Jedi Knights, because, in essence they no longer existed, therefore it would be an excellent opportunity to "forget" about any previous bans on love etc.

I reckon we will find no reference to this rule after the time of ANH ( I could be wrong )

There was no ban on falling in love, however you did swear to devote your life to the Jedi order which made sex a bit of a hassle I'd imagine.

Don't forget what the Jedi were in the time of Episode I (and II). After Ep III there will be nothing left of it. Just a few people with some sweet Jedi powers. They're not knights anymore. There is no jedi order or group, therefor, no more rules.

Anny had more powers and stronger Jedi force than they'd seen before. Remember when they first found him in Ep I? He was the one to restore balance. Love and Hate are extreme emotions, and also very close together. I think the point was they have to have a nice balance of everything. Being madly in love and extremely happy could also go the other way. Imagine if your lover dies. This could tip someone over the edge to the dark side, and we don't want that :)
