Ive just been told from a very reliable source that Mick admitted to Bertie Ahern on Friday afternoon that he made (and I quote): "A major blunder" in sending Keane home. He feels now that there is no point in asking Keane back because he will lose face. He also said that he will resign as Team Manager following Ireland's last game in this World Cup. I suppose none of this is too surprising, but all the same, it's interesting.

tbh i hope this isnt true.
Not that he admits making a mistake but that he doesnt want to lose face.

If this is confirmed ill scream!

Maybe Im just a blind optimist in this particular case! (believe me, Im usually a "the glass is half empty" kinda guy!)
But I actually think the more time Keane has in England the more hes gonna realise what a massive mistake hes made and maybe they will be able to get some kind of agreement on the table!
    Iv no evidence of this!
I just feel something is on the cards..............

Unless of course the tabloids actually print some of the stories Iv seen floating around the net!
Then I think Keane will be to busy hunting for a new house to worry about playing for Ireland!

Celtic FC, the pride of Ireland

if that's true he deserves to get sacked from his job let alone leave after Ireland's last World Cup game but i would be very surprised if McCarthy said that

I have had faith with McCarthy thru six years of near misses and last minute goals conceded and I've never questioned his ability to manage the team .... until now!

Irregardless of who is to blame, and who said what, the manager has proved he can't run a tight ship and now our football squad are the talking point (or is that laughing stock?) of world football when we should be quietly preparing for a tournement that many suspected we would cause a few surprises in :(

Basically, I don't care if this team even manages the unthinkable gets to the Semi Finals, I still want the manager to stand down after this tournement!

Me too. I've heard a lot of people say "Oh how can you turn your back on Keane..." but the way I see it, it was McCarthy who got us to the World Cup, NOT Keane so why is everyone turning their back on him? He's done the squad no end of good.

Anyway, if he goes who else will we have as manager? Joe f*ckin Kinnear?
