I got myself a 2nd PC for use as a server, pretty sweet spec for €600 (Duron 1 GIG, 256 DDR RAM, 40 GIG Seagate). Anyway, the motherboard supports temperature, fan rate etc etc. Is there a Win2K Program I can get to monitor this. Also, again if the motherboard supports it (I think it's an Elite K7 or sommen like that), a piece of software that will overclock from windows as opposed to the BIOS ?

I have a th7 and use a program called hardware doctor:

It does a pretty decent job

MBM does a good job of monitoring temps, fan speeds, etc.:

    Absolutely, Gadgety.

I use MBM most of the time. Nice and handy, always in my system tray (mmm. mouse-over).

    try this program: www.almico.com/speedfan.php

It not only monitors fans and temps, but ON SUPPORTED BOARDS, is able to change fan speed using pwm ( Pulse width modulation ) basically switching the fan on and off very quickly, with a particular duty cycle. Most chipsets support this, but implementation on motherboards is ropey. I haven't managed to get it to work yet, my motherboard is supported, but the fan headers are blown, and I've tried it on one other board without success (an MSI KT3 ) Theres a list of supported boards on the site here:

    MBM is the best one.
You can also program on OSD to display stats of the board.
If its a via chipset i think viahardware monitor works in W2k
