i've just read the article and it seems all 3 channels will be broadcasting unencrypted on analogue or am i talking bollocks (it is late after all)

ARD, ZDF and Sat1 will be free to air in analogue on Astra1. On digital it is still undecided though. I'll let U know.

ARD and ZDF have started 2 new channels esp. for the max. 25 matches they're allowed to show

ASTRA 1 F-H, 19,2° east

ARD WM2002 has started in bouquet ARD Digital on 11836H, SR27500, FEC3/4, in clear.
ZDF WM2002 has started in bouquet ZDF Vision on 11954H, SR27500, FEC3/4, in clear.

i saw this on ARD teletext but couldn't understand a word of it. will they be a 24 hour a day thing

Just checked the teletext, on ZDFtext P231/232 you find their schedule for the first round.
