Looks like Apple are onto something here,a common complaint of the standard G4s were that there were hard to rack up ,as you can imagine their fancy designs did not help , some people used rackmounts to hold the G4 sideways but these took up 4U in space, you can fit 4 of these guys in the same space.

Also it will not be long before we see DDR Memory used in the desktop G4s ,and the fact that Apple are offering rebates on special deals with current models, only strengthens this idea.

    great news.

    gigabit ethernet also.
    only one pci slot free.
lame gfx card but if you are rack mounting them you don't need a agp one I guess.

Gigabit Ethernet is standard on G4's AFAIK, on the higher models anyway.

Sure is , since the Digital Audio G4 , and even the new G4 Powerbook has Gigabit , not to mention DVI-I and Radeon 7500 .. yep it sure does look like Apple are doing things right,

also I can't wait for 10.2(Jaguar) with the faster OSX GUI ..

The AGP Radeon 8500 is BTO on the XServe, if needed ! .
