RTE to strike during World Cup?

    It seems the unions are getting fractious about RTEs' plans to sell off its Outside Broadcast opps. The result could be no live coverage of the election count (hurarr! :D) but more worringly
    no World Cup, okay for most this is'nt an issue as regarding watching games, but it'll be through the lens of British TV so
    a lot less local insight will be afforded the Irish games.

    Humm. Would the staff really be that mean and do it during the World Cup? Once we win then they can strike OR on the General election but if they do it during the World Cup they will be hunted down and shot :D

    i hope this doesn't happen. the thought of commentary from ITV or a German channel for some games is disturbing
