    Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea

I support neither but on this form, who in their right mind would bet again' the Gunners for the double?
    I pity Utd. on Wednesday....

Not the best FA Cup final but the better team did win.

    Chelsea were disappointing....tsh tsh....

hmmm... I'm just thinking if United lose or draw against Arsenal on Wednesday, that Old Trafford will not be a pretty sight. Just a thought.

I'm sure Fergie will hammer that into the players all week long.

Arsenal will batter Man U at Old Trafford ;]

And even if they dont, their last game...Everton? Just give them the damn trophy now and get it over with!

Ah now now don't be sayin that. United will be going out with all guns blazing and Arsenal will have a hangover after todays result.

And as for that Everton comment... well Everton have beaten you enough times in recent years to upset Arsenal, because Arsenal will be very nervous after we beat em.

As Dusty's (somehow familiar :) ) sig says... G'WAN THE ARSE!

Arsenal DESERVE the double (and more) this year.

    PLYD BOYOS!

After the consistent season they've had, Arsenal deserve the Premiership. And I think they'll have it by midweek.

The words 'grasping' and 'straws' come most easily to mind after reading this.

On the formbook everyone talked about a hangover regarding the FA cup final itself. Consider that while Chelsea harassed and pressed well in midfield, we were cruising, with few players really exerting themselves- if you're hoping for an Arsenal hangover, don't bet on it. The last time we won the double, the decisive match was played at the same venue, with one Marc Overmars playing out of his skin, well supported by Alex Manninger. With an even better side, and with United having very little of anything to play for, the result looks fairly likely to swing our way. And even if it doesn't, guess who we beat in that same double-winning season to clinch the premiership? Why Everton of course. Everything seems to be falling into place for us now, players are really peaking towards the end of the season as they should be.

Overall it wasn't an energy-filled cup final by FA cup standards, it was an average match with 2 stunning goals, particularly the second. Crossing the halfway line with the ball, running past defenders and curling it into the far corner, Pires couldn't have done better if he was on the pitch.

For now, I'm going to crawl into bed and try to f*ckin well sober up by noon later today for the snooker final. WAN the Gunners! *Raises his glass*: "Make mine a double Arsene"

Having little to play for? Are you mad?! We are out of all our competitions and would die to win this years premiership. You'll see it on Wednesday. From the start of the game to the finish, we'll be fully focused on beating you. I predict a 3-0 victory and Forlan to score two, his first being a tap in and the second being a screamer from 35 yards. Ruud will score the other one in the dying minutes of the match when Arsenal are pushing forward.

    Forlan to score two

    LMFAO!!:D

    For-who??

You mean the guy tho cost more than Andy Cole, needs more chances to hit the net than Cole and missed a sitter in the Champions Legue Semi? :p

    pffft..get realistic

I admire your belief in your team but you're not going to catch much of this weekends sunshine while you persist in keeping your head up your arse.

After the claims you make in this post, I don't think it is I who is mentally deficient sir.

We are out of all our competitions...
    /cheer
    /dance :)
Ever occur to you that's because you've played in a mediocre fashion all year? Or because MU have been incredibly complacent vs. teams they can and should beat (sup Boro?). Probably the most inconsistent defense in the top 6 this season, and went out of the CL semifinal in the first leg because of it.

and would die to win this years premiership.
You don't have to die to achieve it- but I think you fail to understand the seriousness of the situation. All we need is a draw on Wednesday to ensure we are crowned champions. A victory in either match would see us as double-winners. To put it mildly, the result combination that allows you to win the title is very unlikely.

You'll see it on Wednesday. From the start of the game to the finish, we'll be fully focused on beating you.
A number of teams this year have all made similar statements at the prematch press conferences, most recently Chelsea players talking about their 'focus on beating their opponents'. There isn't a team in the league that has played as well as us over the course of the season in domestic competitions, having a healthy lead at the head of the premiership and being crowned FA cup winners isn't just one long streak of luck.

I predict a 3-0 victory and Forlan to score two, his first being a tap in and the second being a screamer from 35 yards. Ruud will score the other one in the dying minutes of the match when Arsenal are pushing forward.

I predict an army of mushrooms storming the pitch, all singing Abide with me from their Adam-crozier emblazoned cup final songbooks- let's not forget the flight of pigs that swarm around old trafford this time of year...see how pointless an exercise in prediction is? Not to mention you seem to be able to predict exactly *how* the goals will be scored, and that they will be scored by the biggest Old Trafford washout of a striker that is Diego Forlan. As for Arsenal pushing forward...why the heck should we? All that is required is a draw- and no matter the result of wednesday's win, if we beat Everton, we're still champions. Now if you're going to say that Man U *will* beat the Addicks ( by no means a certainty, Alan Curbishly is one tricky devil of a manager), then you must also acknowledge that Arsenal have a darn good chance to beat Everton. Man U have to win both remaining games, AND hope that we lost both of ours. I'd say good luck, but it's going to take a miracle to prevent the double being paraded through islington this year. Well, here's hoping anyhow :P

    hahahahaha... neither could you.

Listen man, I'm fully serioius here. He'll get a tap in and then his confidence will rise unbelieveably high and will score a screamer from 35 yards.

And Occy... read my post again will you please? LOL and me mentally deficient? It is you that has compared Chelsea's determination to that of United. Please wake up.

As a Liverpool fan I can only say well done Arsenal and thrash em on Wednesday! :D (of course 'Pool will conspire to loose both their last two games so will still finish third, oh well.. :( )

    Mike.

It'd be f'in brilliant if United only finished third, after all Ferguson's comments recently.

As an Arsenal fan, I'm obviously biased, but man-for-man, the Gunners have been the best this season.

Winning the title in the "Theatre of dreams" would be a dream alright :)

Ahh, but you haven't seen CT strutting his stuff, and with someone whose nick is 'Pornapster', your last statement is highly suspect :P

I'm *serious* too- I'm serious that your prediction is completely baseless. Just out of curiousity, how do you know what you just said will come to pass? It might, but more likely he'll leave the match with only his Ginolawannabe haircut, which incidentally is the reason he couldn't even score in a brothel :P

And Occy... read my post again will you please? LOL and me mentally deficient? It is you that has compared Chelsea's determination to that of United. Please wake up.

Tsk tsk, so much frustration, understandable I guess, considering the shabby your team has languished in all season, fair enough. I never said *you* were mentally deficient, merely that I wasn't, bit paranoid perhaps? :) I don't blame you, given the general expectancy of fans who've only supported Utd in recent successful times; it's understandable that a bit of paranoia might creep in with the unspeakable fear that you mightn't win something this season- get over it.

As for Chelsea's determination...did you watch the FA cup final? Perhaps not, for in the final I saw, Chelsea were pressing extremely well in midfield, closing us down well, and playing their guts out to deny us space in the final third. I personally can't see Juan 'wasteofcash' Veron pulling his weight in the same way. Determination? United didn't know the meaning of the word when they played Middlesboro, the reason they beat you 2-0 is that they were simply more determined than you man for man. In every position on the pitch United has better players than Boro, they can't have *all* had a **** game. They just weren't determined enough to graft the result, something Chelsea managed to do all the way to the final. Considering that Chelsea at least have runners-up medals to United's *zip* from the FA cup, I think they were certainly more determined than I've seen United in any important match this season.

It's a pretty simple equation- you have to win both your games, and hope we lose both of ours- we only need a draw. The percentages favor us so strongly that I don't even entertain the possibility, we've been the best team in the league all season- I don't see that changing in one match. Be as determined as you like, our first choice eleven is better man for man in every position. Henry is a proven goalscorer, Forlan is a waste of money- the result will tell the story. It's not that long away pr0rnapster, I'll have a slice of humble pie waiting.

After experiencing Alex Ferguson's personality lately and his persistance on playing mind games with Wenger, I hope Arsenal beat them silly tomorrow night.
How can Ferguson be so persistant on playing stupid games with one of the strongest managers in England? Hopefully Arsenal will beat them, liverpool finish runners up and Utd somewhere after that.

I'm confident we'l beat Man Utd at the trafford wednesday nite or at least draw with them. Our defence is more organised then last season for starters. With Keane on playing it wont be easy for arsenal and vieira has to make up for a lacklustre performance in the cup-final where Frank lampard is a favourite possibly to gatecrash Englands World cup squad after scoring numerous points off the maestro.Everton wont be easy & under David Moyes they have become organised. Dough we've answered the doubters on alot of potential banana skins this season, ie as follows
    1.Bolton(away)
    2.Ipswich
    3.Newcastle(away)
    4.Liverpool(away)
    6.The cup final

Tommorrow night has to be the mother and father of all potential banana skins but we are only getting into gear so i think on belief in gunners camp vs the dissapointment in the united camp we'l win it.

wish i shared your belief :(

According to Henry the players are exausted from the run in but they have 'the will to win' and finish the double. Having said that ManUre must also be tired after the champs league run. If this match was played earlier in the season it would have had draw written all over it, but as its the moaners last chance to have a say in the title i think theyll be pulling out all the stops. I think im too close to it all to make a reasoned call, so ill shut up now :)

no Henry tomorrow night :( . Wiltord better be playing a lot better than he did on Saturday

If Freddy Ljungberg (did I spell that right?!) is playing then they'll win.

    Mike.

i think its a safe bet that Ljungberg is starting tomorrow. there has been no mention of any injury worries. no doubt Sven will be keeping a close eye on him
