RTÉ 1, Network 2, TV3 and TG4 are all subscription channels and will not be able to be viewed on Sky when the subscription is ended

    topcat,

you need to find somebody who will swap their entire digibox with you. If both parties have the same subscription, then each gets the others terrestrials. An almost perfect solution if both already have their domestic channels.

In other words, I have RTE now on two 'platforms' terrestrial and satellite; and no UK terrestrials on either. If I swapped boxes I'd still have RTE via aerial but now also have the UK channels. The UK person loses the terrestrials on satellite, but could still pick them up off the air.

One other advantage: Unless Sky enforce 'phone home', they would never be able to detect the situation (unlike BBC cards matched to Irish boxes, which a database sweep might one day uncover).

All this depends on both continuing to pay the others' subs!
