Hows it goin? Glad to see an OFP Irish community, getting a bit sick of all the scandanavians talking about their specs. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know about a site I'm involved in which is trying to be the link between ofp clans and players. Its at http://www.klansearch.com and has just gone up.

Hopefully it will be 1 database of clans and another of clanless players, and both can be searched looking for certain specifications. Its a working progress but to begin with we need to build the databases. If any of you are involved with clans, then feel free to add it to the site. Or if indeed you're not in clans, we need klanless players to add themselves too. We've had a good response so far, hope you guys like it.

Comments and suggestions would b much appreciated. lol, no questions about the "k" in klansearch, clansearch was simply already registered I think.

Sorry if I've f*cked the spelling, Im a bit dislexic today

    Cheers,

    Santa

We're just starting out, dunno if there are any Irish Op|Flash clans yet, but this will be a starting point for one or two at least.
We're in a bit of a sorry situation with regards people's connection speeds and servers, as in we don't have any of either :(
That situation is changing as I type though, so maybe in a few weeks, things will be very different.

    Nice site too btw :)

yeah I know the story, Im on 56k myself, I refuse to buy into eircoms "high-speed". Yeah I've been following the Ireland Offline forums closely (which I think any irish gamer should have an interest in) and as you might know you can now order ADSL (in dublin anyway) and I think they're starting it in like 10 days, but I wouldn't recommend getting it cos the people on the trials say that the pings are terrible. and I mean, that 3gb cap is unacceptable. Esat however, have already launched their DSL (in Limerick only atm) but when they unbundle more exchanges they'll b in business. They're unbundling 40 at the moment but I haven't a clue where these forty are situated, Ive got a nagging feeling that they're all outside dublin (good for people in the country, of course, but doesn't do me any favours). But their package is very reasonable (not internationally, but when eircom is the only other option....), I cant remember they're prices, they're not THAT far off Eircoms I think, but the main advantage is that theres no cap on any of the services, and the ping with esat is meant to be magic compared to eircoms. So, going on ping and the unlimited cap, I'd advice anyone who has the chance to get adsl from esat, also, I'd like to see eircom go under.

Yeah, I was reading s mall bit about it.

Esat are to launch their own DSL, and the uncapped version is a bit cheaper then eircom's.
I'm involved with setting up the GalwayWAN and am hoping to setup a dedicated OP|Flash server on it.
Would be on for a Clan, except I'm on 28.8 over a DACS line at the moment, which prohibits me from DSL too :(
