Programmes actually start on 1st May and will be available to Sky basic pack subscribers - I don't know about Eire.

Also from 1st May 'The Racing Channel' will be available free on 410 - again, I don't know about Eire.

Tried attheraces this morning before going to work on 418. Racing News on presented by some guy I have seen presenting the equivelant programme in the mornings on Sky Sports, also outside broadcast from John McCririck (not sure about the spelling but u know who i am talking about).

The Racing Channel is no longer encrypted (I think), programmes had not started at this stage but an advertisment to say text was available. No Blue Screen!!

I've been switching between the 2 here in Northern Ireland all day today, and as a racing fan, I have to say that I was more impressed with the Racing Channel during the day, but I've been enjoying the evening's racing at Cheltenham on At the Races. So they're both good- a far cry from the BBC/ITV, who give us a few select racecourses, and very seldom venture out of that narrow band. I actually saw the racing at Hexham for the first time ever today.

This will tie in nicely with Sky's on-line betting plans.
