EXPLORER crashing for no reason......

    Meself and PHB have talk brieflty about this on #fortress.ie , but here goes......
    My spec:
    P3 800,
    Creative Gf1 SDR,
    SBLive! 1024 + liveware3
    (surround mixer doesn't work at all - failed to load plugins),
    Lucent 1646 DSp modem + 5.87 drivers(Winmodem for all intents and purposes),
    Win98SE,
    Internet Explorer 5.0,
    ICQ 2000b,
    Getright 4.3, SBLive! bloatware running in background too.
    Every so often this happens:
    Explorer, this program has performed an illegel operatiojn yadda yadda yadda....
    and the Details shows this sh|te:

    There's a new enough virus going around that overwrites wsock32.dll (Snow White and the seven dwarves ring any bells), might be worth making sure you're anti-virus is up to date

    Mentioned in the above link, at the very least might be worth replacing the dll as described

    The information in this article applies to:

    SYMPTOMS
    You may receive an error message related to the Krized.tt6 file. The error message may look similar to any of the following error messages:

    waol caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll
    -or-
    vsmon caused an invalid page fault in module wsock32.dll
    -or-
    explorer caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll
    -or-
    explorer caused an invalid page fault in module wsock32.dll
    -or-
    program caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll
    -or-
    program caused an invalid page fault in module wsock32.dll
    You may also experience slow performance when you try to browse network shares.

    CAUSE
    This behavior can occur if your computer is infected by a variation of the W32/KRIZ virus. Variations of the W32/KRIZ virus include the W32/KRIZ.3862 and W32/KRIZ.4092 variations.

    Your backups (if any) might be infected with the virus?

    I have 3 partitions on my 3oGB hdd. I use two small 5G to back stuff up. It is very possible that it is that snow white virus, as I got it before. I don't havea virus scanner yet, though now I think I'll invest in one. They kinda stop me from mucking about in DOS, which is bad, cos I have a good few old DOS games.
    just on that note, has anyone gotten their SBLive!'s SB16 emulation to work in DOS? If so, how and what settings did u use?
