Recently i've noticed some ppl being able to just suddenly "appear" on my contact list, i have set it to "authorization requided" but they dont seem to need it.

I've looked at asta******* and there are *patches* for this stuff apparently, but they seem to be for earlier versions of the program.

    So ....

1)Is authorization at my machine or by the icq servers?
2)If its done locally on my machine..is there anyway to stop it?
3)If i use Trillian instead (no ads, nice look also) does this give me any more protection?
