A new twist on an old planet

    I spent most of today remaking an old planet I made a couple of months ago, making some new textures entirely and tweaking others....

    first the old

    then the new

    Photoshop for the planet textures and 3ds Max 4 for every thing else :)

    kewl work mont0rs,
    The bump map in the new one works well.

    Wonder if u tryed giving it more of a planetary radiance it might look even better. On ludo we managed a kewl internal planet glow by putting a semi-transparent reflection map of clouds in it.
    Just an idea.

    lazer: It's 8 maps applied to a sphere that were made from scratch...

    Havok: Cheers for the suggestion, I'll give it a go and see what it turns out like.
