the sports boards would probably be interested in a pro sport topic.
of course, you could always put it in the recycle bin

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,638 ✭✭✭bombidol

Sports board will move a wrestling post and recycle bin aint an option, best bet is just to ignore this post unless you are into wrestling.

i hate this Sh1t, if you arent a wrestling fan why would you post flames? i can understand if you were a wrestling fan and you had something bad to say , like who cares if theres a school opening, but thats like me going to the sport board and saying "You like watching men in shorts!" on a football thread.
please if you arent a wrestling fan, dont post negative comments all other comments welcome.

I suppose it might have a positive impact re: getting youth off the streets, but will probably be very expensive...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,638 ✭✭✭bombidol

could be looking at 10 euros a session but sessions could be 5+ hours long. I reckon the first few months there wont be a ring just mats, and then if the class takens off theyll build a ring.

Would this wrestling be WWF - i.e - Fake?
Or would it actually be real wrestling?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,638 ✭✭✭bombidol

Its pro wrestling yeas so like the WWF. You are thinking of olympic of freestyle wrestling, amature style. WWF is not faked its choreographed.

    :D
Same thing no? They're not hurting each other badly. They're acting, it's not real wrestling in that they are not really oponents trying to beat each other? WWF is not real wrestling. It's entertainment, performed by actors, but that's not what we're talkin about here, and I don't want to bring your thread off topic...

Bomb, youre not the only wrestling fan!

I am a closet WWF fan myself, and it is that damn good!!

The moves hurt, they help each other to perform the moves. some wrestlers do actually hit each other with punches and kicks its called Working stiff. The closest profession i can find to wrestling is porn, the moves are there but theres no feeling behind it. Anyway this is getting off topic,

When will you have more details on this. I'm a bit of a wrestling fan and I would like to try it out for the laugh.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 198 ✭✭EL_Diablo

Yeah I'm really interested. Post up whatever details you have.
I have tried backyard wrestling on trampolines and stuff but never in a real ring. This is gonna kick so much ass that I can't even describe how much ass it's gonna kick.
And it's not fake. It's choreographed but it is by no means fake. Falling (and being slammed) on the mat from six and seven feet(and much higher sometimes) in the air really does hurt.Getting hit with a metal chair can hurt. Not to mention the amount of times things have gone wrong. Those injuries are real.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,638 ✭✭✭bombidol

Yeah Curry Man Aka Christopher Daniels is an absolute legend in the making, he is one of the best indy wrestlers around, him and low Ki.

Basicall the school will be opened by NWA Hammerlock who are a british wrestling company who have been around ages, their main rivals are the FWA who are an amazing UK fed.
The school, at the start will more than likely just be a load of mats on the floor untill they get enough students and money to build a ring. This will tie in nicely with Irish Whip Wrestling (IWW) who are an Irish wrestling Federation starting up here, they have a show running in a few weeks and if that does well we could well see them running more shows with trainees from this School.
I have no idead were the schools are going to be all i know is that theres one in Dublin and one in Cork, i reckon itll be about €10.00 a session , probably 5-7 hours on a sunday and once or twice a week for a few hours.
If i find out anymore ill let you know.

(PS Would any of you guys like to be able to buy Mexican,Japanese and British wresting tapes in a shop in town?)

I've followed hammerlock since very early in their life after reading about them in Powerslam magazine, amazing that things have grown so much for them that they're now opening 2 schools over here. I'm definitely interested and even more so since they're linked in with a growing fed. Any idea on who might be running the training?
Looks like a good start there too on the website bombidol.

no word on the trainer yet, i reckon itll be some old school brit wrestler, best bet is to go in a get the basics down from him and then practice to yourself. 3Count will be selling rings, so if you have the room and the money we can either get you training mats or a ring, big cash for the ring though.

Firstly, Bombidol, U are a messiah. i thank you totally for your support of the greatest martial arts ever.

My name is Red Vinny, I have been watching wresteling from Wrestle mania 4. Im not a boastful person but i want ever one out there to know what Wresteling is about:
    PAIN!!!
    SUFFERING!!!
    DEDICATION!!!
    and...
    HEART!!!

I have been doing katani karate do for 5 years, judo for 2 years, Capeoira for 1 year. I studdied tae-kwon-do, kick boxing, I spend an hour each day lifting weights all so i could go and study wresteling in Japan.
I admire all of you that support this sport...

Wresteling is fake, but to quote the hardcore legend Mick Foley: "Wresteling is more real than the real world!"
The matches are planned, wins are pre-determined, but doesnt ever 1 know this?
there fore fake, to me, mean...
    ENTERTAINMENT!!!

I need to know more Bombidol....
I have to start studding the greatest art of fighting there is...
And to all that dislike wresteling... Go through what i have, Rumatism, dislocated arms, broken fingers, broken noses, torn musles, contious cuts and even lasterations....

    How fake is that?

Wanna meet up and tell me that Rock is gay! Come on...
    I'll prove you so wrong...

    And that my friends..
    is why they call me...
    THE HERATIC!!!

    Long live sports entertainment
Bombidol please get in contact with me, i need to know more...
    Thanks all!

Why does a guy call himself stresslemania and then start ragging on the concept of pro-wrestling? I think he was just a smark looking to let off a little steam and should have been ignored from the outset of this thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,817 ✭✭✭✭po0k

As though it wasn't painfully obvious allready, it was someone taking the p1ss.
There are a whole shower of likely suspects, and it has happened soooomany times, on sooo many other threads that it' now nearly commonplace.

besides, unlicenced boxing is amore entertaining sport to watch, imho.
Of course, you could join your local fight club...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,638 ✭✭✭bombidol

We get some stuff from other suppliers yes, but the difference is when we buy it in you can buy it there and then with out the shipping costs. the best example is that I bought a lucha mask and a pair of knee pads there a while back and inc shipping from the states it cost me €60.00 i should be able to sell the knee pads for 20-25€ and the mask for 20-25€ thats a saving of at least 10 and you can walk home with them there and then instead of waiting a week. It looks like we might be on Capel Street have a meeting with the bank today Ill keep you all posted.
