i would just like to say, are rock bands getting the recognition they deserve? Some of the best rock bands of the early 80's up to the early 90's ie, Metallica, guns 'n' Roses, Black Sabbeth etc, they never had it good as the bands noadays do. Take Nickleback for example, thery're number one both on the single and album chart, Jimmy Eat World is number 15, the Strokes are number 7. Not one of the bands i listed above from early 80's to early 90's didn't get a number one album, but Metallica did get their only number one with "Nothing Else Matters". Why has the "other" people just come to their senses now? Or is just all this nu-metal is kinda not as heavy as the old rock?

The MTV generation learn to like anything they are told to and then come back eager for more. For example, tell lots people that Blink 182 or Sum 41 are good and enough start believing it to make a dent in the charts. Simple as that.
