Its coming up to the summer and I want to give beer making a shot! Has anyone any experience with beer making? What sort of materials I need and how do I go about it?

I'm not looking to make fantastic beer, just want to make a load of it for the summer! About 100L should do.

actually Ive always wanted to try that meself, the main objective for me would be the expense, so if anyone with some experience would be so kind as to include details of cost of equipment too, I would be grateful.

I don't think its very expenisive. When you work out how much you would have paid for all the pints! I've seen people with kits. Its just a big kind of sack with a tap at the bottom. Does someone know where I could get a kit?

I remember walking past an old looking shop in Ranelagh a few times last summer, it either had beer brewing stuff advertised in the window or up on the thing above the door if memory serves.... it's accross from the Xtra-Vision, on the triangle.

I'd be interested in brewing some beer, only for the money saving though, but I probably wouldn't have the patience for it.

What about stout making? Although making your own stout would make me feel dirty, like I'm betraying Guiness or something.

On another note, janitor in my former secondary school used to make wine, he left two massive bottles of the stuff distilling in the school for three months those months being the summer holidays :)
