Just watched this one. Don't get to the cinema as often these days so I guess I missed the boat on this one. Wonderful, wonderful film. I have to say Jeunet should stay away from big movies like Alien Resurrection (worst Alien film) and stick to these quirky charming warm films that he seems to excel with. This is also probably his most accessible film for those who 'aint fans of his.
Buy/rent it sit back and smile your arse off. Isn't it nice to be nice?

Been looking out for this, when's it out on region 2 again? Maybe it's already out and the local Xtra-Vision aren't stocking it :(....

Ah, if I'd remembered I'd have popped into Xtra-Vision and picked it up today, it'll probably be the weekend before I get a chance to see it now :(.

Can't wait to see it again. Wanted to see it again immediately after the first time I saw it actually.

I went to see it three times in 10 days. Bought the soundtrack too. Beautiful.

Rented it today, top stuff, beautiful film, I only wish I'd been able to understand the french properly, having to read subtitles in a film like this means you miss a lot of small detail, and can't appreciate some of the shots/scenery fully. Worth it anyway though. And is it just me or is Amelie one of the sexiest characters in a film for a very long time? :)

Yeah. When it was released in dubbed form, critics lauded how good a job had been done preserving as much as possible with the translation. Jeunet, on the other hand, hated it - because you lost so much.

    Same applies for subtitles, unfortunately.

Oh, its not just you. Ms. Tatou has a definite je ne c'est quoi about her in that movie. It could be the impish smile....

Amelie, for the record, was my top movie of last year, in front of LOTR. Living in Switzerland has its advantages - the DVD was released here early Feb. Made a great Valentines Day pressie for my girlfriend :)
