I'm pretty new to Ireland, having only gotten here towards the end of last year. I have quite a large collection of photos from South Africa (mostly wildlife and some landscape stuff, digital and film), and I've recently started building a portfolio... but who should I show it to?

I'd like to make some kind of commission based revenue, maybe using photo librarties, or even just "get published" somewhere to start.

    any ideas??

I really dont know, its a little beyond my area of expertise.
However there are a few guys over on www.creativeireland.com who would know.

You could try someone like Slidefile.

However, I would also consider submissions further afield (I.E. stock photo agencies in other countries).

Following on from Samson... you could try maybe some SA tourist bodies... I know a we've got images from the main SA tourism crowd for some ads.
