For those of you too lazy to find out elsewhere on the 'net just who is playing Witnness this year, here's a handy cut out an keep guide.

It's basically the exact same line-up as T In The Park in Scotland which runs the same weekend. Those money grabbing b astards in MCD are promoting it too. Expect a few 'token' Irish bands to be announced at the last minute, so no change from previous Witnness's there then. The Frames and Damien Rice are allegedly appearing as are half the acts who play MCD's other big cash making bonanza that is Green Energy.

It's a rather fine line up all the same so hats off to Darragh Purcell, Dennis Desmond and their pals in la la land.

    Saturday July 13
    Primal Scream
    No Doubt
    Green Day
    Foo Fighters
    Chemical Brothers
    Ian Brown
    The Hives
    The Beta Band
    Vex Red
    Mull Historical Society
    Beverly Knight

    Sunday July 14
    Oasis
    Badly Drawn Boy
    Rival Schools
    Groove Armada
    A
    Black Rebel Motorcyle Club
    Gomez
    Haven
    Morcheeba
    Slam
    Starsailor
    Joe Strummer & the Mescalaros
    Mercury Rev
    Tricky
    Idlewild
    Haven
    The Frames
    Slam
    Layo & Bushwacka

The whole thing is being launched on April 11th. Great...

sounds like another money spinner for mcd alright...... loads of money spinning b list pop stars and yet more depressing "up and coming" indie acts .how about something decent for a change, something thats worth spending half a weeks wage on

Mercury Rev are deadly. i saw them when they played down in cork. david kitt will probably play again this year - he was class last year. is the band A the ones who wrote 'nothing'. thats a class song.

The one good thing about that list is the lack of that band!
