    April 3rd - Band Biography.

    SACK

Dublin five piece band consist of Martin on vocals, John and Ken on guitars, Darrell on bass and Tony on drums. To date the band have had huge success supporting Morrissey in 1999 which brought the band on an America tour with Morrissey. With two albums under their belt "You are what you eat" and "Butterfly Effect" the band has gone from strength to strength.
In June 2000 the band released "Adventura Majestica" their best release yet. Just as their ‘Butterfly Effect’ album from three years ago proved that this Dublin five piece had always been more than just another guitar band, the seven tracks on this mini-album display their ability to easily experiment with various styles. The band are currently experimenting with different material for their next album due for release late this year.

    LA ROCCA

Disillusioned by bland bands getting away with murder, La Rocca formed a little over two years ago. The 4 members of La Rocca hatched a plan to fuse melody, noise and energy to win over the worlds ears. Songs were written, shows were played and people began to pay attention. The notebooks of singer / guitarist Bjorn Baillie quickly became the starting point for the vast majority of La Rocca's material. Bjorn's tales of late nights, good times and loves lost, together with the frenetic bass and drums of Simon Baillie and Alan Redmond and the manic yet beautiful backdrop of Nick Haworths keyboard soon combined to give La Rocca their unique sound. La Rocca take their name from the neon sign outside the nightclub of ill-repute they worked in while in college and the band made their debut release on last summers 'Commemoration and Amnesia' compilation album, along with Manic Street Preachers, Catatonia and Super Furry Animals.
The band performed at both the Witness Festival and 'In The City' music convention in Summer 2000. This was followed up in October 2000, with the release of debut single 'Dependence Theme'. The band headed to the states in March 2001 for a performance at the South by Southwest music convention in Texas. This was followed by a series of gigs around Ireland and several recording sessions, the fruits of which will be available shortly. La Rocca have become one of the biggest live draws on the Dublin scene in the past 12 months and 2002 already looks a whole lot better.

Isn’t Spam when I clog up your inbox with unsolicited emails and stuff like that ?? All I have done is posted something that may be of interest to the people that subscribe to this board. Rather than waste paper & screw up the environment by printing off 10s of thousands of flyers I have resorted to using this medium of marketing a very credible new club night in Dublin. The subject of the post "Alternative Student Night @ Last" should be enough to deter people who have no interest in Student nights in Dublin. The fact that so far 95 members have taken the time to read it should go to show that there is a need for it. For those of you who would rather go to Mono & The Palace and listen to Brittany & Kyle all night well then you don't need an alternative; simply use you mouse to scroll down to the next topic of interest.

What we are trying to do is bring something new to the scene, we had over 400 people at the launch night last week and the reaction was amazing so we must be doing something right.

Sorry about the delay in my response but I have been very busy enjoying all the free porn I somehow got in my mail box.

    Cheers

    Zodiac

No it doesnt it shows that the people who posted here probably viewed a couple of times which knocks 20 or so off of it.

You say "we" had 400 ...
therefore i assume you have somthing to do with the organising / ownership of htis ?
in that case this is indeed commercial advertising, somthing if i recall that is banned
    from these boards.

if your going to post this **** then at least put it on the music board, you might have some chance in there that someone would actually be bothered with the crap your posting, or preferebly go post elsewhere , i.e. not boards.ie .

we hate spam in our mail / e-mail , on our phones , so there is no chance its going to be appreciated here.

to put it simply the court/ velvet/ tomato has been & always will be crap ..
