    Did the Irish film Censor ever allow the film to be shown here? I knew it was refused classification on release in the 70's

    Anyone know?

    Yep I think it was the late 1980's or 1990 when it was released I remember going to the Charlton(I think...the Cinema that used to be at the Quays opposite Da Harp) when it was released and nearly having a heart attack I laughed so much. That old dear who dressed in black with the cross that had a tricolour ribbon wrapped around it was picketing outside.
