may be of interest to some:
    Dear Folks,
Due to moderate (!) demand, two author events have been scheduled
next week for Dublin and Belfast respectively, with the rather excellent
Scottish crime novelist Paul Johnston also taking part. These will not be
readings, as readings can be rather dull. Instead, they will be dull in a
different way. The details, for those on the right side of the Atlantic/
Pacific/ Irish Sea are as follows:

    Dublin: Monday 25th March
    6.00pm
Upstairs in the gigs venue, International Bar, corner of Wicklow Street and
    South William Street, Dublin 2.
Books will be on sale, courtesy of Murder Ink in Dawson Street, and signed
copies can be ordered at (01) 677 7570.

    Tuesday 26th March
    6.00 pm
    No Alibis Bookstore
    83 Botanic Avenue
    Belfast BT7 1JL
    Northern Ireland
    Ph 028-90-31960

In April, author events are due to take place in Johannesburg and Cape Town
as part of a short South African tour. The first will take place in the
Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town, on Saturday April 6th, to be followed by a
similar event in Johannesburg on Thursday April 11th, in association with
the very lovely radio host, Jenny Crwys-Williams. Venue details have yet to
    be confirmed for Johannesburg. Sorry.

There will be handful of UK appearances during the summer, namely an
appearance at Crime Scene in London, on a date yet to be confirmed, and:

Saturday June 1st, 10.30am, at the Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival.

Wednesday August 21st, 10.30am, Studio Theatre, as part of the Edinburgh
    International Book Festival

In Ireland, there will be an event as part of the Brendan Kennelly Festival
in Ballylongford, County Kerry, early in August. Details will appear on the
site when the date is confirmed.

A lengthy US tour will follow in September and October to coincide with the
publication of The Killing Kind, and details will, once again, be posted on
the site closer to the dates.

Finally, my thanks to all those who have contributed to the success of The
White Road, which is currently making the bestseller lists look untidy. I'm
    grateful to you all.

    Best wishes,
    John Connolly
