    man, that was muck, im sure some people will like it but i thought it was S|¬it, there were loads of characters and we know nothing about them by the end of the film, the story is crap too, Lestat forms a band!! come on!, VERY VERY dodgy

    From what I can recall of reading it (some time ago), there was a large amount of common story between Interview and TVL.

    Actually, this seems to be a feature of Ann Rice's writing, because I remember thinking exactly the same thing when I read TGhe Witching Hour and Taltos. She seems to tell the same "substory" twice - in two successive books - with only a point-of-view difference.

    As a result, the studios decided that there wasnt sufficient matieral in the second book to merit a movie of its own, and so QOTD was movied instead.

    Leastways - thats the story I heard.

    The Vampire Lestat was my favourite of them all and I think the most likely to make a great movie. I'd rate the lot as -
    Interview With The Vampire - Good.
    Vampire Lestat - Excellent
    Queen of the Damned - decent enough, bit dodgy.
    The Body Thief - Not bad
    Pandora The Vampire - Excellent.
    Memnoch the Devil - Oh dear, the start of a disastrous religious phase.
    Vittorio The Vampire - not great, yet more religion overkill and WAY too much about art.
    Armande The Vampire - Crap, art history to the gills and the usual 'I love you, but I'll rip you to pieces' speeches.

    the film didnt follow the story of the book very well at all at all! Someone took a lot of liberties. It was quite crap, no where near the standards of Interview with a vampire. The characters in the film that you know nothing about are characters that you learn about in the book, but the film fails to provide any information about them, just throws them in to provide an ending. Gonna be a big flop
