    I need some help regardin' media files.

    i just downloaded an episode of the transformers(all 170mb of it) in college. when i try to run it(its an .avi file), it says i don't have the correct decompresser.

    So what do i do...

    Oh yeah theres also 1 teensy weensy problem, the ******* admins have setup a block on installations on college computers.

    I need help for the love of god......help me.........*fade off*

    well unless u can install mplayer r realplayer ur screwed! LOL tongue.gif

    if ur usin novell try login out n in at the same time, that way ur not login on with ur profile and u might get a few extra options u didn't hav b4! LOL u didn't hear that from me!!!

    My guess is thats its a divx
    most episodes of stuff are these days

    and all codecs need .dll's in the system folders so ill have to snag an admins log-on like i have tongue.gif

    All big avi files off the web these days were most likely encoded using divx so just go download the divx ;-) codec, install it and you should be able to play it.

    yeah that happens sometimes to us in ITT where we dont log on with our profile.

    Unfortunately it still doesnt let us install the codecs. We just watch them on the machines where some ppl have local admin.
