It seems every time I sit down at a computer the damn @ symbol has swapped places with the " symbol.

It's not just that one either. # and £ are another pair.

can't they just make up their ****ing minds

American keyboards have the @ over 2, while UK keyboards have it over the '. If myou change the keyboard settings, you can have the @ over the 2 all the time.

English (Irish) if you live in Ireland. Else whenever you type "Green" it'll come out "Orange".

The prob is I use diff computers all the time and don't have access rights to change keyboard settings

You can put Multilingual support for Windows.

Or multiple keyboard mappings (for those who were wondering).

So in the bottom right a little "EN" appears, you click that and select between whatever keyboard type you want.

It's in the settings control panel, Keyboard. Just tell them it's a SW keyboard speeder upper or something.

yeah, just change your keyboard settings to english (british ) and it'll put you " over the 2 and your @ over the ' key... tis other way round on american keyboards...so..dont use english(united states)
