but yes. you are a sad, silly misguided little child.

Ok, Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment.
Allow me to make a couple of points about them.

Their storylines werent worth a ****.
The gameplay was both astonishingly bad and boring, yet strangely very compicated at the same time.
The objectives were long, boring cases of walking about to find some bull**** item which didnt even do anything cool when you got it.
I couldnt care less whether the characters lived, died, or remained dead in one case.
The music, when it was there at all, was pure crap.

I actually played Torment ages ago and gave up on it cos it was so bad... I rarely give up on games before clocking them, so i went back to it a while ago (after finishing all the other games i had at the time and being very VERY bored). I was under some strange impression that id never just got the hang of it. After attempting to play it for a day and a half, i learned the same thing i had leanred before, and something which i will fortunately never have to learn again - the game is, quite simply, astonishingly bad. The same goes for Baldurs Gate, which i attempted to play at one time because popular opinion was that it was good. But, as i needed to learn only once, popular opinion can often be very, VERY wrong - remember all those people who thought the world was flat...?

Oh, and all the ultima games suck as well.

Now im a VERY big fan of RPGs, but excuse if i go in for RPGs which have some semblance of a story, are actually fun to play, not to complicated to learn, and dont require tremendous feats of endurance simply to stick with it for the first five minutes. Its just a pity that all western RPGs seem to be like this.

    AHEM! ok... to quote:

"You're wrong and a grotesquely ugly freak!"

You see, I think that the whole problem here lies in the fact that you are an idiot. neither game is overly complicated (and after U6 all the ultima games are even simpler). Torment is so stripped down it's a sinch! and it's a classic game. it has great humour and the plot (which admittadly starts out thin) becomes fabulous. bg is a bit the same, although personally i wasn't as pushed.

Of course, both pale in comparision to chronotrigger, but they hold their own to the ff games. it's just a different style.

How can you even compare that ribbish to class acts like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger? And Chrono Trigger wasnt that big of a step up from Final 6, and in my opinion was not quite up to the standard of Final 5 and Final 7. Chrono Cross is admittedly amazing, but when placed against the like of Xenogears... i dunno... Xenosaga looks like a lot of fun.

Is it me or did Theme Hospital get annoyingly repetitive about half way through?? Theme Park was so much better in that respect.
