I downloaded Imperialism of that Underdogs site- interesting game but no manual came with it. Anyone know where I can find a version of it on the web?

Hmm well I dont have the manual so Im working of the readmes i found. Internet play is possible, One guy hosts the game and he saves and loads the game- game also autosaves at the end of each players turn.

As for the game itself Ive picked up the basics of playing it by trial and error and reading the less than complete help ingame. As far as I can tell its more a trade simulation than anything else. You can fight wars and so on, but it becomes very hard to do so as you have to have an overwhelming force to beat anything beyond militia - and once youve won the war and try to cut costs , well ive yet to find out how to disband milatary units.

Diplomacy plays a major role in the game- this is where multiplayer seems like it will be most fun - You can "buy" land from minor powers which like you - then develop the lands resources and share the profits with the minor power. Eventually you can invite the minor power to become your colony, which seems to mean very little to be honest.

I've played Imperialism 2, it's a nice game. A little repedetive but fun. It's basically an empire building/trade game, with some depth.

I don't have access to a manual, but tbh the game mechanics are fairly simple, so the in game help is enough.
