and is there any need for it anyway? if you've already got the phone (which I have) then you are stuck with the change over anyway.

On another note, have you noticed that you used to have two months with 10 quid, but now that we have changed to euros - 10 of them will only get you one month! now I know it's a bit less then 10 quid, but still it's annoying!

Email and tell them to stop.

    sales@vodafone.ie
    or better still
    care@vodafone.ie

And tell all your friends to email too.....they actually do listen to legit ideas/comments.

You think the TV campaign is bad? I WORK there. Next Friday I have 2hrs of 'rebranding'. WTF are they going to talk about for 2 hours?! We've already had one 'vodafone's values' session. I think that's enough. :(

Yes McDonalds are the masters of the advertising franchise.

It helps when you have you many companies around the world with the same name and thus you dont have to spend avertising money on them in the local countries.

I have to say that i did like the "I Like You" add when it was on british tv but now its just old.

Also do Eircell (Vodafone) not sponsor Cork in GAA why then do we see a different team in the add they also support Man U and there in the add.

They've Taken us over lads, The Brits are here, For another 800 years???????

Their was a great e-merge add on the TV a year ago with dublin city looking very clean and modern.

    what has happened.

    Globalisation death of the nation??

Personally don't like Vodafone brand, preffered Eircell.

    That is all!

Do you think they ever really relinguished control of Ireland?
.........okay getting too political -suffice to say I preferred Eircell branding (except the Purple Barney colour thing)

Vodaphone is too generic (ala Microsoft-ish) and TOO english.

Summat on-topic for this thread, the ad on Irish TV.

Eircell sponsored Clare, hence the saffron and blue in the commercial.

    Digifone sponsor Cork GAA.

I didn't know Vodafone was British. I thought is was from some other country. It's in 28 countries apparently. I don't mind Vodafone but I've also had enough of "Red is the new purple" and "How are you?" I also got the new IRL Vodafone operator logo which looks like cack.

Did you know that the name was made up of VOice and DAta. The fone part is selfexplanatory! Uninteresting information for ya!:D

I must say I quite like the vodafone branding - but maybe that is just me. Don't forget as well that, uncontent with its recent rebrand from Esat Digifone to Digifone, it is to undergo another rebrand to become O2 . BTCellnet is also becoming O2 as well as operators in several other countries. See http://www.o2.ie for more info. Then I wonder if Orange or One2One will buy Meteor. Now if they could standardise their prices and have no roaming charges between the UK and Ireland, that'd be nice.

o2? What's that all about? I prefer the Digifone branding. I found this on o2 site
O2 was formed in November 2001 following a demerger from British Telecommunications plc. O2 brings together the expertise of five national mobile networks - BT Cellnet in the UK, Digifone in Ireland, Manx Telecom on the Isle of Man, Telfort in the Netherlands and Viag Interkom in Germany - and Genie, the international fixed and mobile internet portal.

So I guess we'll see plenty of adverts for o2 now.

My Last Post was to suggest that we were not really Irish any more with these big companies coming into our country without any Irish investment and also changing the names of brands so that they can make more and more money and when we have no money and our jobs are gone we will be wondering why the f u c k we allowed these companies come into our country for a few years only to see them go after the boom has stopped.

The advertisement that we are talking about here was to suggest this, but unfortunately VODAFONE got it right and I got it wrong Clare are sponsored by VODAFONE. But I must ask the question are any of the Clare players used in the VODAFONE add. As you can guess I am not up with football. and your right I couldn't care less who VODAFONE sponsor.

and finally lets face it in a few years down the road TV3 will have become ITV IRL, maybe even Esat Fusion to BT (GOD NO).

I hope my point is heard if not lets just take this

I was work at 11850 during the summer at this time many job were going from Ireland (Dell and Gateway). One of the girls I was working with said that we were luck that you will always need a directory service. But 11850 or Conduit use Ireland for their directory service for Orange here in Ireland. what’s to stop them moving out of Ireland. Lets face it Sky provide TV here and they not really base in Ireland now are they. (All i can say is thank god 11850 is an Irish company)

Also 11850 is Irish owned has companies in Australia, Britain etc. and they wish to keep their names in each of the countries as 11850. Suppose it’s handy when your abroad that you will be able to use the same number just like the Euro.

We are all Europeans after all.

hope this is not to confussing.

Ack, you think that's bad - I had to go to a two day "brand values" seminar at one stage.

I have never, ever, ever been so bored in my life.

Branding - the new form of corporate torture. :p
