Disqualified for using non-banned substances!!!

    I dunno how much/little fo the Winter Olympics you guys have been following but this one struck me as classic :

    CNN have an article about some athletes disqualified for using substances which are not banned!

    OK - more correctly, they are "so new" that they are not on the banned list yet, but aparently this is no excuse. OK - I can see the point (sort of), but given that drugs have extensive test periods before being brought ot market, how hard can it be for people like the IOC to stay on top of things???

    To make matters worse, one of the athletes is only being stripped of one of his three (or more?) medals, becuase although he was tested for each, he only failed on one test.

    the IOC's banned drugs list says that its not exclusive and any artificial substance that does x, y and/or z are banned - even if its not listed..

    its quite clear..
