I know a young lady who lost most of her personal possessions, furniture, etc. When about two months ago jack frost burst a water pipe in her loft, while her home was unoccupied for a few days. She is a local Authority tenant with a home contents policy that she obtained through her bank - with their guidance -. Yet after 2 months she has not received a cent from her insurers and is now living in seriously damp unfurnished accommodation in a state of despair. As no one seems to - give a damn - about her plight?? even though she was supposed to be insured. Can anyone throw any light on her rights and or the financial institutions responsibilities?? All comments welcome and urgently needed as it looks as though she will be really homeless from next Monday 25th February as the damp has made her home uninhabitable. In my view, her insurers, the local authority, the local politicians etc, are all guilty of negligence, incompetance and inhumanity verging on CRIMINAL NEGLECT, yours, a very angry , paddy20
